Notice: Opting for Advance Bookings

Meatco is urging producers to use the advance-booking platforms, as the requests allow for better planning.

The requested cattle numbers are used for efficient monthly capacity planning at Meatco’s Windhoek abattoir to determine whether the factory should operate under block slaughtering. Producers are discouraged from focussing on short-notice bookings, as this can result in failure to get an allocation at the time of the request.  

Should producers seek assistance in making bookings, they will be directed to Meatco’s livestock procurement employees by telephone or e-mail. Bookings and enquiries in the areas of Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo and Gobabis should be forwarded to Rivonia Omes at 0817854609. In the Windhoek area, Michelle Victor can be contacted at 061 321 6446. For the Okahandja area, contact Vekondjisa Katjivena at 061 321 6016, while Okakarara producers can contact Elvis Uanivi at 061 321 6019.

The producers should provide their producer number, amount of cattle to be slaughtered, preferred slaughter date and a date range to exclude, if an,y when making a booking request.
