Meatco constantly strives to meet the demands of an ever-changing and competitive market by ensuring that it delivers the highest quality product to clients through following world-class processes and adhering to strict food safety and hygiene practices.

To become the leading and admired provider of premium products to niche markets, Meatco ensures it runs its business in conformity with the highest technical, ethical, social and environmental practices.

The marketing and sales department, one of Meatco’s key departments, ensures that the organisation’s excellent quality meat products reach as many markets as possible, including the European Union, Norway, the United Kingdom, the Reunion and selected countries in Africa. Meatco, in recent times, has gained access to lucrative markets in the United States and China.

In addition, Meatco’s export abattoir in Windhoek holds an ‘A’ grading in terms of the internationally recognised British Retail Consortium (BRC) Standards. The BRC measures ethical and fair practices, animal welfare and corporate social responsibility, as well as technical and operational factors in food production.

Adding value to Namibian beef starts in the veld, where farmers rear free-range cattle using natural methods. Animals are raised on veld grass most of their lives and no growth hormones or routine antibiotics are used in their rearing. Apart from using naturally reared cattle for its production, Meatco ensures that the cattle are treated according to strict animal welfare principles. So, Meatco focusses on producing value-added, deboned cuts of meat to meet various client specifications for customers across the world.

Meatco’s customers include high-end premium retail outlets, restaurant groups, processors and manufacturers. Natures Reserve is Meatco’s flagship product range and encapsulates everything  good about its product. Natures Reserve beef is among the best quality beef in the world, produced naturally and to the highest standards. There are various products available under the Natures Reserve brand, including standard primal cuts and products developed specifically for some of Meatco’s global clients.

Natures Reserve beef is ISO-, HACCP- and Halaal-certified, and can be traced back to the farm of origin.

As a significant contributor to the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and SME Development’s “Growth at Home Strategy”, Meatco avails its exceptional export quality beef cuts locally to Food Lover’s Market.

Primal cuts such as rump, fillet, striploin, silverside and topside are available to Namibians at a fair price  in conformity with export quality standards.
