Namibian President, His Excellency Dr Hage Geingob, and his counterpart the President of Guinea, His Excellency Alpha Condè, and other distinguished dignitaries visited the Meatco Windhoek Export Abattoir on 9 May 2019.

The visit was part of the Guinean’s President two-day state visit.
The two Heads of State are expected to reaffirm their commitment to the agreements signed during President Geingob's state visit to Guinea last year.

During the visit to the plant, Meatco’s Board Chairperson, Dr Martha Namundjebo-Tliahun, welcomed the two Heads of State and various distinguished dignitaries to Namibia’s largest exporter of premium beef. She thanked President Geingob, through the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF), for allowing Meatco to grow from strength to strength under his leadership.

Namundjebo-Tliahun highlighted that, as a strategic organisation, one of Meatco's objectives is to ensure that it holds a significant market share in the Namibian livestock industry.

“Given our track record to deliver quality meat products internationally, we are excited about exploring a new market like Guinea. I am happy to confirm that our team is ready to develop this market opportunity through the leadership of His Excellency Dr Hage Geingob and the various line ministries,” Namundjebo-Tliahun said.

The visit ended with the dignitaries getting an opportunity to witness how premium quality meat is produced inside Meatco’s processing plant. They also observed the commitment of the Meatco team to ensuring that all stakeholders are satisfied with the high-quality meat products the company produces.
