Notice: Meatcos Contract Feeding Scheme Reactivated

01 Feb 2019

Meatco hereby informing producers that the Contract Feeding Scheme is reactivated with immediate effect.

Producers’ are advised to contact their nearest Meatco Technical Advisors (TAs) for more information and assistance as well as with signing agreements.

Meatco’s Contract Feeding Scheme introduced through the Backwards Integration Initiative is an agreement, which allows Meatco to buy cattle and place them at a producer's individual farm/feedlot until they are ready for slaughter.  The animal is, thus, raised/fed in accordance to Meatco’s requirements.

Overall, the producer remains responsible for the performance, growth and health of the cattle. Thereafter, Meatco slaughters the animals when they are ready and pays the participant/producer for each kilogram of live growth achieved during the contract feeding period.

All producers will be acquainted with Terms & Conditions before signing the agreement.
