Corporate Affairs team dazzles judges with their hospitality at NAU Braai

The NAU Agri-Braai – previously known as the Meatco National Braai – took place at the Reit Club in Okahandja on 27 and 28 May 2016 and was hosted by the Okahandja Farmers’ Association (FA). The event attracted crowds from all corners of the country as participants, spectators and guests came together to enjoy fantastic Meatco steak.

Although Meatco is no longer the main sponsor of the event, the Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Relations department entered as a social team and participated in the braai-off. Eleven social and eight FA teams came from as far as Aroab to take part in this exciting event that serves as a socialising platform for everyone in the meat industry.

“The Corporate Affairs team is delighted to have participated as competitors for the first time and not as part of the organising committee. It was more like a team building experience for us, so we really enjoyed the day while preparing the best medium-rare steak along with Namibian dishes in line with this year’s theme,” says Rosa Thobias, Corporate Affairs Manager.

The two-day competition ended with Meatco’s “Cattlemen” team scooping the best Hospitality Award, while Windhoek Livestock Auctioneers (WLA) won in the category for social teams. Uhlenhorst won in the FA category and will host next year’s event.

Meatco’s relationship with the NAU Agri-Braai is one that promises to last, and this may well be the beginning of many more participations in the category for social teams.
