21 Aug 2020

ATTENTION ALL FARMERS

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform,  in collaboration with Meatco, hereby urges farmers to have their cattle tagged before the age of six months or before a calf leaves the place where it is born, whichever comes first according to the Animal Identification Regulations of 2017.

Animals must also be registered on NamLITS database under the Directorate of Veterinary Services within seven days of tagging.

Only animals that are registered on NamLITS for more than 39 days will be eligible for movement to any marketplace or other holdings except younger calves.
