On 28 May 2019, Tanzanian President John Magufuli and his delegation visited the Meatco plant in Windhoek to observe the operations and meat production process.

Impressed with Meatco operations, Magufuli said a lot could be learnt from Namibia’s largest exporter of prime beef.

President Magufuli’s visit to Meatco formed part of his itinerary during his two-day official state visit to Namibia. The visit also provided an opportunity for the two countries to explore new avenues of cooperation, including the promotion of trade and investment to strengthen the excellent historic relations.

Namibian Vice President Nangolo Mbumba and the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forest, Alpheus !Naruseb, as well as the Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, Frans Kapofi, accompanied the Tanzanian head of state and his delegation.
