Meatco Board Chairperson Dr Martha Namundjebu-Tilahun would like to assure Namibian producers and all African and European markets that there is no need for panic after Zeranol was detected in cattle at Meatco’s Okapuka Feedlot. “The situation is under control and the incident was discussed in detail at a Meatco Board meeting as well as with DVS,” she said. Meatco is in consultation with DVS regarding this matter and producers will be informed of the latest information once it is known.
