According to Meatco Operations Executive, Jannie Breytenbach, the test slaughter gave them the chance to test the unit on home soil to asses if all the requirements for the Namibian environment are in order and functioning correctly.

The test slaughter was attended by members of the Meat Board of Namibia, inspectors from the Ministry of Health as well as Meatco employees, stakeholders and producers, who are all optimistic of the unit’s success.
