MEATMA Donates To City Of Windhoek Shoe Box Project

11 Feb 2015

Meatco, through its MEATMA brand, donated boxes of boerewors and burger patties valued at N$2 600 to the recipients of the City of Windhoek Shoe Box Donation Handover event, on the 27th January 2015. MEATMA Shop donated these meat products as a means of ploughing back to the community and strengthening its partnership with the City of Windhoek. These meat products were handed over by Griffith Uahindua, Meatco Sales Representative: Local Markets & Value Addition.

Last year, MEATMA contributed to the City of Windhoek New Year’s Eve event held in the capital. Not all the product committed to the event that was utilized and a decision was taken to donate the remainder to charities identified by the City of Windhoek through their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

The aim of the sponsorship is to build partnerships with MEATMA clients, in this case the City of Windhoek, and to help spread the word about the MEATMA brand.

At Meatco, we see Corporate Social Responsibility as a way in which our values, corporate culture and operations come together. Supporting the communities that are important to our clients, and which in turn are prospective MEATMA customers, is one way of doing that.

The goods were donated to the following beneficiaries’ homes from Katutura:

  1. Home of Good hope represented by Monica Imanga
  2. Greenwell Soup Kitchen represented by Ms. Emilie Kaheka,
  3. Ouma Sanna Snyder (The Granny with 17 grandchildren in Havanna)

MEATMA is a complete range of quality meat products, produced by Meatco, for the enjoyment of everyone, at an affordable price. The MEATMA Retail shop was first launched in August last year in Windhoek.
