Meatco has a world class abattoir and meat processing facility in the
garden town of Okahandja. It has the capacity to slaughter 500 cattle per day.
That is equivalent to 75 tons of chilled and frozen deboned cuts per day, 18
tons of byproducts per day, 10.3 tons of tallow per day and 16 tons of offal
per day.
The Okahandja Factory employs 371 people and is ISO 9001 and HACCP
certified. Like its Windhoek counterpart it is regularly subjected to various independent
audits including the European Union audit.
