1. On the Meatco Delivery Agreement form, the producer specifies his/her marketing plan according to his/her requirements.
2. The allocation of quantities and slaughter dates will be determined according to Meatco's merit point system.
3. The producer will receive a monthly allocation letter from Meatco for the different periods. Details on letters must be double-checked by producer on receipt and corrected in writing with Meatco within 14 days of receipt of letter.
4. The producer will be contacted by his/her procurement office for preference dates on allocation before the 15th of the month preceding the month of slaughter.
5. A producer making use of an agent must supply the agent with his/her preference dates. The agent must submit the dates to the Meatco Procurement Office indicating whether the producer will make use of the slaughter allocation or not. This must be done before the 15th of the month proceeding the month of slaughter.
6. Allocations for January, May and August will be allocated from the dates indicated on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd period tables on the from page of the Agreement. In case of no indication of preferred dates, the computer system will do an allocation based on the merit point system.
7. Meatco will process the slaughter applications and supply the agent with a computer printout of slaughter dates allocated not later than the 22nd of the month prior to slaughter. The Procurement Office will notify producers who market directly through Meatco personally.
8. Should a producer wish to cancel his/her slaughter date, the Procurement Office should be notified of such cancellation at least eight (8) days prior to the slaughter date.
9. Producers who wish to share a consignment must indicate the number of animals and the Name and Meat board number of the person(s) that they will be sharing with on their allocation cards. Such deliveries must take place on the same date.
10. All cattle delivered to Meatco must be accompanied by a Meatco slaughter advice, completed in full. The slaughter advice must accompany the truck delivering the animals to the Meatco abattoir. No cattle will be received without a completed slaughter advice, including animals marketed through agents. All cattle delivered must also be accompanied by a valid fully completed movement permit and a valid disinfection certificate.
11. It is very important that slaughter advices are completed correctly. In the case of incomplete slaughter advices, animals will not be received until the slaughter advice has been completed correctly and in full.
12. Should a producer wish to slaughter more than the quantity indicated in his/her Delivery Agreement in a particular month, his/her request will be put on the waiting list.
13. Cattle to be delivered more than the booked quota, must get proper permission from the procurement office well in advance.
14. At least 60% of cattle booked must be delivered to prevent penalisation of the merit point.
All producers who signed the slaughter agreement will enjoy preference in terms of the slaughter allocation above those producers who have not signed an agreement.
