Employee Relations
Meatco is a multicultural organisation that employs more than 1 200 people in six business units across Namibia and in subsidiaries in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Meatco believes in cultivating and maintaining a participative and loyal workforce.
From the induction period onwards employees are made aware that their opinions are valued. Many innovations come from within the company and is encouraged at every level of the organisation. Meatco makes use of an internal communications system known as Invocoms (Involved Communication) to involve employees not only in the day to day decisions of Meatco’s operations, but in guiding major decisions within the organisation as well.
Meatco is representative of all cultures within Namibia and the employees have a healthy respect for one another. They regularly engage on a social level through company fun days that involve volleyball, soccer, pool and various other activities.
Meatco also aims to engage its employees in a socially responsible manner by affording them annual opportunities to identify HIV/Aids organisations within their communities, which the company assists through its Corporate Social Responsiblility Programme. |
