Overview

Meatco’s vision is to have the most sought-after meat brands in selected markets in the long term interest of its stakeholders and aims to achieve this by creating added value for its customers through unique competencies as well as cost effective and innovative processes; sound social and environmental practices and motivated staff. This is driven by the Chief Executive Officer and his team of highly skilled Senior Managers under the guidance of the Board of Directors.
 
 
Group Structure

Meatco is a Namibian Corporation with subsidiaries in some of its major export markets including Europe and South Africa.
 
 
Management Structure

Meatco’s management is structured to support its aim in maintaining its position as world class exporter of superior quality meat products.

The Management is led by a Chief Executive Officer. To reach the goals set out for him by the Chairman of the Board, the Chief Executive has at his disposal Senior Managers with the following duties:

Employee Relations

Meatco is a multicultural organisation that employs more than 1 200 people in six business units across Namibia and in subsidiaries in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Meatco believes in cultivating and maintaining a participative and loyal workforce. 

From the induction period onwards employees are made aware that their opinions are valued. Many innovations come from within the company and is encouraged at every level of the organisation. Meatco makes use of an internal communications system known as Invocoms (Involved Communication) to involve employees not only in the day to day decisions of Meatco’s operations, but in guiding major decisions within the organisation as well.

Meatco is representative of all cultures within Namibia and the employees have a healthy respect for one another. They regularly engage on a social level through company fun days that involve volleyball, soccer, pool and various other activities.

Meatco also aims to engage its employees in a socially responsible manner by affording them annual opportunities to identify HIV/Aids organisations within their communities, which the company assists through its Corporate Social Responsiblility Programme.
