Leather
Okapuka Tannery, in operation since 1993, is situated near Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. It processes up to 1000 cattle hides per day, obtained from the main abattoirs of Meatco (Meat Corporation of Namibia). The hides are machine flayed and fleshed at the abattoir and put directly into the tanning process without curing between the abattoir and tannery. Country hides from within Namibia and neighboring countries are processed into Wet Blue. The latest technology with the full spectrum of computer control is used to achieve environmentally favorable processing and consistent quality. Cattle hides are exported in Wet Blue or processed on order into dyed Crust leather suitable for furniture upholstery.

Due to the natural defects by thorn bushes and branding the quality of hides of Namibian origin are termed as corrected and heavily corrected grain type of leather suitable for the furniture and automotive industries.

Canned Products
Meatco also produces Corned Beef and other Canned Beef Products for export.
